Borussia Dortmund vs Newcastle United: UEFA Champions League team news and preview
By Tushar Bahl
Borussia Dortmund will hope to return to winning ways on Tuesday as they take on Newcastle United in the UEFA Champions League.
The crunch games keep on coming for Borussia Dortmund, and they will welcome Newcastle United to the Westfalenstadion in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday. Still reeling from their 4-0 defeat to Bayern Munich, the Black and Yellows will look to swiftly get back to winning ways against the side they beat 1-0 two weeks ago.
Newcastle United have found their form since that defeat, and will go into Tuesday’s game on the back of wins over Manchester United and Arsenal. Eddie Howe’s side will also take confidence from the fact that they were the better team in the reverse fixture, only to be denied by an imperious Gregor Kobel and the woodwork.
Edin Terzic could look to change things up after the Bayern defeat, although Emre Can remains a serious doubt due to the injury he suffered against Newcastle United last month. Felix Nmecha, Karim Adeyemi and Gio Reyna are among the players who could be in contention to feature on Tuesday.
Newcastle United have a number of injury concerns ahead of the trip to Dortmund. Former BVB striker Alexander Isak, wingers Jacob Murphy and Harvey Barnes, full-backs Matt Targett and Dan Burn, and centre-back Sven Botman are all sidelined. While Sandro Tonali is suspended.
