Edin Terzic is backing Borussia Dortmund to draw the right conclusions and find solutions from their heavy defeat to Bayern Munich.

Borussia Dortmund were handed a stark reality check on Saturday evening as they lost to Bayern Munich in another one-sided edition of Der Klassiker. The Black and Yellows were outplayed by the Bavarians, and now find themselves well off the pace in the Bundesliga title race.

It was a well deserved defeat for Borussia Dortmund, who fell two goals behind very early on and never managed to recover after that. The gulf in quality between the two teams was very evident, as Bayern Munich managed to overwhelm their BVB counter-parts time and time again.

Edin Terzic has admitted that Bayern were simply superior to them in every department on the pitch. But he is also backing BVB to analyse this performance and make the adjustments needed to bounce-back straight away.

"“Bayern were superior to us in all departments,” Terzic said (via Sky Sport). “The way they protected the ball, how aggressive they were. That can’t happen to us at this level if we want to win against Bayern. There was a phase where we took a lot of balls away from them, but we gave them away again after five seconds. We gave away a lot of counter-attacks and couldn’t keep up with the pace.”“We’ve proven time and again that we always come back after games and setbacks like this because we draw the right conclusions and find solutions – we’ll be able to do that again this time.”"

Borussia Dortmund do not have too long to dwell on this result, with another tough home game in store for them on Tuesday. Edin Terzic’s side will be in UEFA Champions League action against Newcastle United, where they must avoid defeat in order to keep their hopes of qualifying for the round of 16 on track.
