Expected Borussia Dortmund lineup vs Newcastle United

The UEFA Champions League returns this week as Borussia Dortmund go up against Newcastle United in a crunch Group F clash.
Borussia Dortmund will continue their bid to qualify for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 on Tuesday with a home game against the in-form Newcastle United. Edin Terzic will hope to see a response from his side after Saturday’s dismal performance in the 4-0 defeat to Bayern Munich.
It looks increasingly likely that Emre Can will miss Tuesday’s game, as the club captain is still dealing with the injury he suffered when the two sides last met two weeks ago. Ramy Bensebaini is also a doubt ahead of kick-off.
Here we take a look at how Borussia Dortmund could line up for their UEFA Champions League clash against Newcastle United.
Gregor Kobel will start in goal once again on Tuesday. He could be in for another busy evening, and will hope to deliver a repeat of his performance from the reverse fixture.
Borussia Dortmund could make a change at centre-back on Tuesday, with Mats Hummels the likeliest to drop out. Niklas Süle appears to be in line for a chance in the starting XI, with Nico Schlotterbeck expected to start as the left centre-back.
Julian Ryerson is set to keep his place in the team. And unless Ramy Bensebaini manages to recover from his injury, Marius Wolf will likely start at right-back on Tuesday. Süle could also be an option for the right-back role, having replaced Wolf at half-time against Bayern.
With Emre Can still sidelined, Salih Özcan will start in the number six role against Newcastle. The Turkish international will hope to deliver a much-improved performance after struggling against Bayern.
Marcel Sabitzer fared well in the reverse fixture and could start in midfield on Tuesday. Felix Nmecha should also come into the starting XI, and will hope to produce another match-winning moment for Borussia Dortmund.
Julian Brandt and Marco Reus are Borussia Dortmund’s most in-form attacking players, and could start together once again on Tuesday. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Gio Reyna, Karim Adeyemi, and Donyell Malen are the other options available to Edin Terzic.
Niclas Füllkrug is expected to start against Newcastle despite his disappointing performance against Bayern Munich. Fans will hope that Youssoufa Moukoko can also get a look in.
