Borussia Dortmund player ratings from 2-0 win over Newcastle United
By Tushar Bahl
Julian Brandt (8/10)
Brandt made sure of the win with a well taken finish on the counter-attack. He was heavily involved in BVB’s attacking play in the first-half, and also helped keep things tight defensively.
Karim Adeyemi (6/10)
Adeyemi got the assist for the second goal with a long ball into Brandt’s path. His blistering pace caused Newcastle a lot of problems in the first-half, but he wasn’t able to make the most of it. He did look bereft of confidence at times, but hopefully the assist will help with that.
Niclas Füllkrug (7/10)
After being marked out of the game against Bayern, Füllkrug was much more involved against Newcastle and asserted his will on the game with his goal. His first ever goal in the Champions League will give the Germany international a lot of confidence.
