Borussia Dortmund take the lead but all to play for in Champions League Group F with two matchdays left

Borussia Dortmund claimed a 2-0 win over Newcastle United to move to the top of Group F in the UEFA Champions League, but the margins remain razor thin with two matchdays to go.
After a poor start to their UEFA Champions League campaign, Borussia Dortmund have significantly boosted their hopes of qualifying for the round of 16 by claiming two wins against Newcastle United. The back-to-back wins have lifted Edin Terzic’s side to top spot in Group F, and they now hold a two-point lead over third placed AC Milan.
The Italian side came from behind and beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 on Tuesday to blow the so called group of death wide open. All four teams in the group are still in with a chance of progressing to the round of 16.
AC Milan now have five points to their name ahead of their home game against Borussia Dortmund in three weeks’ time. The Black and Yellows will know that a win in Italy would see them progress to the round of 16, and even a draw would keep them very much on track. The two sides played out a goalless draw when they met at the Westfalenstadion on matchday two.
Borussia Dortmund will host PSG on the final matchday of the group stage. The Parisians have two wins and two defeats from four matches and are currently second in Group F. PSG’s poor away form in the Champions League will certainly give BVB encouragement if they fail to secure a last 16 spot in Milan.
Newcastle United are in fourth place with four points to their name. Despite losing twice against Borussia Dortmund, the English Premier League side will fancy their chances of pulling off a repeat of their incredible 4-1 win against PSG from matchday two when the two sides go head-to-head at the Parc de Princes later this month.
