FC Köln are looking to sign a new striker, and could renew their interest in Youssoufa Moukoko in the January transfer window.

Youssoufa Moukoko is facing an uncertain future at Borussia Dortmund, as reports have claimed that those in charge at the club would be willing to listen to offers for him in January. FC Köln could emerge as a possible destination for the highly rated striker, with BILD claiming that he is high on their list of targets for a new striker.

The Billy Goats are highly unlikely to be able to afford the permanent signing of Moukoko. But a loan move could be a conceivable solution, as it would give Moukoko the chance to play regularly in the Bundesliga. FC Köln also showed interest in signing the striker on loan towards the end of the summer transfer window.

Playing time has been hard to come by for Moukoko at Borussia Dortmund, with Edin Terzic preferring to use Niclas Füllkrug as his first-choice striker. The 18 year old has been limited to just 240 minutes on the pitch so far this season, and has found the back of the net twice.

Youssoufa Moukoko has impressed whenever he has played this season, and has also been in fine goalscoring form for the Germany U-21s. With the European Championship coming up at the end of the season, his aim will be to get regular playing time after the turn of the year and force his way into the Germany senior squad.

It remains to be seen if Moukoko’s potential exit would prompt Borussia Dortmund to sign a new striker, as Sebastien Haller would be away with the Ivory Coast national team in January for the Africa Cup of Nations.
