Dortmund’s midfield duo of Groß and Nmecha won 10/19 of their ground duels compared to the first leg, where the midfield trio won only 6/15. Groß was missed in the first leg, and his ability with the football at his feet was greatly missed. He won the penalty on Tuesday and impressed with his passing. Groß had a match high of 6 progressive passes of at least 10 yards and had more key passes (6) than Barcelona’s entire team (5).

Nmecha was better in the second leg than in the first, but there is definitely room for improvement. Nmecha had only 26 touches, the fewest of any starting midfielders of both teams. He had no carries of 10 or more yards with the ball and was dispossessed a team high 3 times, even with his limited touches. On a positive note, he had the third most passes into the final third on the team with 3.
