Borussia Dortmund again linked with a move for James McAtee

The young Man City midfielder has been linked with the Black and Yellows since the winter, and that still seems to be a topic at the Signal Iduna Park.

According to sources, James McAtee from Manchester City is once again on Borussia Dortmund's list for the summer transfer window. The Englishman seems to be keen on leaving Manchester this summer, and would consider his options with clubs from England and Germany eyeing his signing.

The young player has received few chances with Pep Guardiola this season, and even considered his option to leave during the winter, with Dortmund and Leverkusen interested. However, he ended up staying at the Etihad until the end of the current campaign.

Now, Borussia Dortmund will have to face Leverkusen once more in the race for McAtee's signature, as Wolves have already signaled with a 25 million euros offer for the prodigy. Other clubs like Newcastle United, West Ham, Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, and Leeds United are also reportedly linked with McAtee. Even from Germany, RB Leipzig is also in the race for him, as well as Fiorentina and Bologna from Serie A.

With Dortmund's interest in Jobe Bellingham and Rayan Cherki as priority targets for the midfield, McAtee would look more like a contingency plan, especially if the Black and Yellows struggle to sign the Frenchman from Lyon. McAtee would be a good addition to the team and a player with a considerably high ceiling, but I believe Cherki should still be the first choice in that attacking midfield target.

Borussia Dortmund is not only looking for a creative midfielder for next season but also another center-back, a box-to-box midfielder, and a backup striker for Guirassy.
