Borussia Dortmund will hope to welcome a number of key players back from injury when club football returns in two weeks' time.

The international break comes at the perfect time for Borussia Dortmund, with the club reeling after six straight defeats away from home. The Black and Yellows had to deal with a nightmarish injury situation before the break, with several key players forced to spend time on the sidelines.

Nuri Sahin will hope to welcome back a several of the injured players when his side goes up against SC Freiburg on November 23. And WAZ have provided an update on the injury situation at the club.

Borussia Dortmund injury update: Could situation ease up after international break?

According to the newspaper, Waldemar Anton is expected to return to training soon but the status of fellow centre-back Niklas Süle remains unclear. Also unclear is the status of Gio Reyna. The USMNT international has been sidelined since September and Ruhr Nachrichten are reporting that he may have to wait some time before he can return to training.

Karim Adeyemi and Julien Duranville have been sidelined since the start of October, but are expected to be back in training during the international break. BVB will have to be careful with how they manage the duo's return to action in order to avoid further injuries.

Meanwhile, Gregor Kobel has been included in the Switzerland squad for their upcoming Nations League qualifiers despite missing Borussia Dortmund's last three games due to injury. He could well be back in goal when BVB take on Freiburg.

One player who will definitely miss the Bundesliga clash against Freiburg is Emre Can, who was shown a straight red card against Mainz 05 on Saturday.
