Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marcel Sabitzer continued his strong run of form for Austria on Thursday as he scored in their 4-0 win over Kazakhstan.

Austria claimed their first win over the 2024/25 UEFA Nations League on Thursday, with Marcel Sabitzer leading them to a 4-0 triumph over Kazakhstan. The Borussia Dortmund midfielder was in fine form and scored Austria's third goal ten minutes into the second-half with a well taken first-time shot from the left.

Sabitzer, who now has three goals in his last five games for Ralf Rangnick's side, was on the pitch for the entire game.

Despite the big win, Austria remain three points behind Norway in their Nations League group. Former Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland was the star of the show once again on Thursday as Norway earned a 3-0 win over Slovakia.

Haaland scored a brace to become Norway's leading scorer of all-time. Former RB Leipzig striker Alexander Sørloth was also on target.

Julian Ryerson also played from the start for Norway and was taken off in the 82nd minute with the three points in the bag.

Norway and Ryerson will next be in action against Austria and Sabitzer in the UEFA Nations League on October 13. Sabitzer was on target when the two sides met last month, before Haaland scored the winning goal.

Ramy Bensebaini helped Algeria earn a come from behind 5-1 win over Togo in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The Borussia Dortmund left-back once again started in the middle of the defence for his national team. Algeria will face Togo again on October 14.
