Salih Özcan (VfL Wolfsburg)

Another late departure from Borussia Dortmund, Özcan stayed in the Bundesliga with an initial loan deal to Wolfsburg. The Turkish international also attracted the interest of Galatasaray in January, but decided against the move. But with the signing of Pascal Groß and Felix Nmecha’s improved form, he knew the competition would only get bigger this season.

As it turns out, he’s also struggling to break into Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side. Özcan has only made one start so far - against Eintracht Frankfurt. And even in that game, he was subbed off at half-time. Having missed the recent national team call-up, the international break could help him improve the situation at his new club.

Guille Bueno (Darmstadt)

We’ll conclude our review with a player not technically loaned out by the first team. Guille Bueno joined relegated Darmstadt SV on loan from Borussia Dortmund II in the summer. The left-back has been a permanent fixture since Florian Kohfeldt’s arrival and has made a total of six appearances so far.
