Maximilian Beier (4/10): Playing out wide, Beier wasn't able to get involved much and only touched the ball 13 times before being taken off at the hour mark. He was also asked to do a lot of defending, which he definitely didn't look too comfortable with.

Jamie Gittens (5/10): Gittens was marked out of the game by the Mainz defenders and failed to exert his influence on proceedings. He tried to break free and cause problems in and around the Mainz box, but wasn't able to do so.

Serhou Guirassy (6/10): Despite hardly getting any service from those behind him, Guirassy managed to make his presence felt and won his side a penalty which he converted to make it 1-1. After that, he was starved of any decent crosses or passes and the Mainz back-line managed to keep him at bay.
