Gregor Kobel (6/10) - Kobel could not be blamed for the conceded goals, especially the ones from the first half. Either because of individual mistakes or the defensive system was clearly outnumbered, Gregor could not do much to save the Black-and-Yellows.
Julian Ryerson (5/10) - Ryerson did not contribute either offensively or defensively. In the first half, playing as an inverted full-back, the Norwegian did not support the team in possession and was also too exposed to Kiel's counters. He was subbed at the break.
Emre Can (4/10) - Emre Can could not catch up to Phil Harres in Kiel's second goal and, due to the scheme's high lines, found it challenging to keep up with the pace of the match.
Nico Schlotterbeck (6/10) - Nico's display in the first half was solid despite the circumstances. He was the only one attempting to progress the ball with consistency but ended up falling behind the rest of the team after being 3-nil down.
Ramy Bensebaini (5/10) - Bensebaini played more of an inside role in the match like a proper midfielder. However, he did not provide underlaps to support Jamie Gittens on the left flank and had a lot of ground to cover with this role. He was also subbed at the break.
