Borussia Dortmund has one last ‘Final’ to overcome in their UCL qualification charge.

Borussia Dortmund will face bottom-of-the-table Holstein Kiel in their final match of the season. Holstein Kiel is already relegated, and BVB will host them in the Westfalenstadion, which is bound to be an exciting fixture. Since Freiburg plays Frankfurt at the same time, BVB have the opportunity to qualify for the UEFA Champions League with a win by two or more goals. Borussia Dortmund has the momentum, and I don’t expect Kovač to make many changes.

Predicted Borussia Dortmund lineup to face Holstein Keil (3-5-2):

Defense

Gregor Kobel (GK), Ramy Bensebaini (RCB), Waldemar Anton (CB), Niklas Süle (RCB)

Gregor Kobel came off arguably his best game of the season against Bayer Leverkusen last weekend, and he should feel invigorated to perform again. Kovač’s preferred back three lately has been the combination of Anton, Süle, and Bensebiani, all of whom have been playing well.

Midfield

Daniel Svensson (LWB), Felix Nmecha (CM), Marcel Sabitzer (CM), Julian Ryerson (RWB)

Niko Kovač will be forced to make one change to his squad from last weekend since Pascal Groß will be serving a yellow card suspension. Marcel Sabitzer is the most likely to fill in this role, and Niko Kovač seems keen on the Austrian now that he’s back from injury.

Attack

Julian Brandt (CAM), Karim Adeyemi (ST), Serhou Guirassy (ST)

If Borussia Dortmund are to win by a multi-goal margin, then these players need to be on their game. Guirassy scored last week, while Brandt scored and assisted Adyemi, who repaid the favor by providing Brandt’s assist. Niko Kovač hasn’t been shy about dropping club captain Emre Can from his Starting XI, so I expect Julian Brandt to wear the armband again tomorrow and make his case to the fans.
