As journalist Fabrizio Romano reported, Borussia Dortmund is progressing in talks to sign Olympique Lyonnais's attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki. Cherki was previously linked to BVB, but the deal did not materialize. Now, the Black-and-Yellows could be closer to striking a deal for the Frenchman.

With Cherki being in the last year of his deal, Lyon would reportedly sell for a fee of 22.5 million euros, as established in a verbal agreement between the club and the player. According to Romano, there is an initial green light from Cherki to a BVB move, but there are still details to be discussed in the contract before advancing on a deal.

If this deal goes through, Cherki would be the first BVB signing this winter. The Black-and-Yellows are also keen on bringing another defender to the Signal Iduna Park before the deadline day on February 3rd.
