Borussia Dortmund usually unveil next season’s home kit on their final home match of the season, but one design has been circulating for weeks: A very clean yellow shirt with black shoulders in a clever design to outline mountains. It’s one of the more attractive Dortmund jerseys I’ve seen in a while. If it’s next year’s home kit, I’ll be quite pleased.
Next season’s away kit, while the design hasn’t been leaked, Footy Headlines has reported the colors will diverge from tradition. Instead of the traditional black, the kit will be off-white with neon and black trim. Perhaps Dortmund will wear their away kit more often if it’s not the heat-absorbing black color.
The Cup kit for next season, if the leaks are to be believed, is a classy yellow color of similar shade to last season’s cup kit, but this one seems to contain a floral pattern. The BVB badge also contains a bold outline, like the recent throwback Special Kit. I thought perhaps Puma has been learning from fan feedback… Until I saw the latest leak: The Club World Cup Kit

The monstrosity of a kit appears to be yellow with a striped collar, but that’s where the beauty ends and the horror begins. The shoulders are adorned in dark, menacing Earths or Moons, who can tell? The asteroids are cut awkwardly to accommodate both the BVB badge, and the natural stitching of the shirt. The lower half contains a series of asymmetrical stripes that look copied off the cover of Fall Out Boy’s American Beauty/American Psycho.
As Borussia Dortmund fans, we’ve had to endure a lot of bad kits. But we must hope this leak isn’t real, and our beloved players aren’t forced to wear these atrocious garments in on the World Stage.
