Niko Kovač took the reins of Borussia Dortmund at the beginning of a week filled with transfer news, rumors, and re-shuffling of key personnel. Thanks to a good win against Shakthar Donetsk in Champions League under Mike Tullberg, Borussia Dortmund finished 10th in the league table and were subsequently drawn against Sporting in the knockout playoff.
