Breaking: Niko Kovac to become new manager of Borussia Dortmund

The 53-year-old Croatian trainer has reportedly agreed to a 1.5-year deal with the Black and Yellows

Patrick Berger reports Niko Kovac is set to take the reins of Borussia Dortmund through the end of next season. 

The former Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg manager has been touted as a candidate in recent weeks, but wished for a longer contract than until the end of this season. It seems he will get his wish with a 1.5 year contract. 

The final details should be finalized within the next week and a formal announcement from the club seems imminent.
