Borussia Dortmund is demonstrating concrete interest in signing young midfielder Ardon Jashari from Club Brugge. According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the 22-year-old Swiss midfielder is high on Niko Kovač's shopping list, as he is considered the Croat's number one target.

Additionally, according to Tavolieri, talks have been held between the coach and Jashari's camp, and now the Black and Yellows Dortmund are aiming to finalize a deal, considering they have managed to guarantee Champions League qualification. Talks with Club Brugge are also expected to begin soon for the signing of the prolific defensive midfielder.

Ardon Jashari played 4,132 minutes for Brugge this season, summing up four goals and six assists in all competitions for the Belgium side. The Swiss player has impressive offensive stats for a defensive midfielder, including a 1.7 xG and 4.2 expected assisted goals generated solely in the Jupiler Pro League, as well as 7.19 progressive passes per 90, which ranks in the 88th percentile, according to FBref.

However, this transaction will not be a cheap deal for Dortmund whatsoever. As Ardon Jashari has a contract with Brugge that runs out in 2029, the Black and Yellows will possibly be required to submit a fee higher than his 25 million euros valuation, according to Transfermarkt. Despite a salty price tag, Jashari would be a good addition to BVB's midfield, especially with players like Sabitzer and Özcan likely to depart.

Whether this deal will affect Dortmund's pursuit of Jobe Bellingham is still unclear at the moment, as Frankfurt are pushing for the Englishman, as well as BVB. Florian Plettenberg also alluded to BVB's heated interest in Jashari.
