According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Borussia Dortmund have taken the lead ahead of Eintracht Frankfurt in the race to sign Jobe Bellingham. The two German clubs are the most interested in the Bellingham boy, but, even though both will play in the Champions League next season, BVB seem to be the favorites for now. RB Leipzig are also interested, but behind in the race.

Dortmund intend to move fast to bring Jobe Bellingham to the Signal Iduna Park. The Black and Yellows plan to have Jobe in the squad that will play the Club World Cup in June. Therefore, BVB plan to hold talks with Jobe's entourage following the Championship Playoff Final on Saturday at Wembley, where Sunderland and Sheffield United will fight for a spot in the Premier League next season.

Jobe is Borussia Dortmund's top priority and target number one for the box-to-box midfielder position, and further talks are scheduled for this week. It would be the first impact signing for BVB in the transfer window, as the Black and Yellows also look for a depth centerback, a number 10, and a backup striker, at least.

Jobe Bellingham could be on the way to repeating his brother's footsteps and play for the club that projected him as one of the best midfielders on the planet. Despite being tough on the kid to fill his brother's shoes, I believe it is a good signing to rejuvenate the squad and upgrade an area that desperately needs different profiles in the midfield.
