Borussia Dortmund is very inclined to exercise the buy-option for young Swedish left-back Daniel Svensson. The youngster joined the club during this winter transfer window on a 1.5 million euros loan, with a purchase clause of around 5.5 to 6 million euros. As reported by Sky Sports, the odds are that Svensson will stay in the Signal Iduna Park for the foreseeable future.

According to Patrick Berger, the Black-and-Yellows want to keep the 23-year-old Swede permanently, and the expectation is that BVB will trigger Svensson's buy-option in the summer after the season is over. Reports also claim that everyone has been impressed with Svensson's services since joining the club, with very solid performances against big teams like Bayern Münich and FC Barcelona.

Daniel Svensson began his youth career at his former club, IF Brommapojkarna, in Sweden, before moving to Denmark in 2020 and playing for FC Nordsjælland. The prodigy has impressed the ranks in Borussia Dortmund and got his big shot initially as a depth left-back option, as Dortmund looked depleted in that department.

However, Svensson has made a case for himself to start over Bensebaini at times, with a tremendous defensive prowess and a talent for taking crosses and corners. His most notable performance came from this midweek's Champions League quarterfinal match against Barcelona, where he managed to contain one of the world's most prominent young wingers in Lamine Yamal.

As Svensson's future looks destined to be in Black-and-Yellow, BVB should notify FC Nordsjælland and make his deal permanent in the summer, as things currently stand. A great move, in my opinion, as the young Swede is young and very well-rounded in all areas of a quality Bundesliga left-back.
