It’s Match Day 33, and Borussia Dortmund is receiving plenty of attention. Not only are the Black and Yellows on the verge of Champions League qualification, but they’ve also been recognized for individual talent in recent weeks. Daniel Svensson was recently named the Bundesliga’s Rookie of the Month, and this week, two of Dortmund’s squad were rightfully named in the Bundesliga Team of the Week.

Gregor Kobel

Dortmund’s Swiss shot stopper produced what was arguably one of his best games this season. Kobel managed a whopping seven saves against Bayer Leverkusen just in the first half. He’s a big reason Dortmund didn’t capitulate after the home team’s opening goal. Their last meeting saw Leverkusen take a three-goal cushion in under twenty minutes, but this time, Gregor Kobel denied Leverkusen so many opportunities, allowing Dortmund to come back in this match and eventually win it. The performance should give Kobel a confidence boost as he prepares for one last game, with a Champions League berth on the line.

Karim Adeyemi

Karim Adeyemi might just be Borussia Dortmund’s most exciting player to watch. His agility and recent trend to finish his shot clinically haven't gone unnoticed by fans. Against Leverkusen, Adeyemi assisted Julian Brandt’s equalizer and later scored one of his own to give his squad a two-goal cushion. After starting on the bench last week, we wanted Adeyemi to start, and we weren’t disappointed!

With just one league match left this season, Borussia Dortmund will have to continue their positive trend. A big win on Saturday could mean UEFA Champions League football next season.
