According to Sky Sports journalist Patrick Berger, Karim Adeyemi has changed his mind in terms of transfer. The German international has repeatedly been a candidate to depart Borussia Dortmund; however, the player seems to have made up his mind to stay at Signal Iduna Park.

In addition to Karim deciding to stick around in Dortmund, Berger also claimed that the player would be interested in renewing his current contract with the Black and Yellows. Adeyemi has been enjoying his time under Niko Kovač, as he feels very comfortable at the club and has a good relationship with the manager. There has not yet been an official offer for an extension, but initial talks are underway.

With clubs like Chelsea, Newcastle, Juventus, Napoli, and Milan all reportedly interested in Adeyemi, a departure could not be ruled out initially, as he had concrete investment from Napoli to leave during the winter. But Karim's will have apparently changed the landscape since Kovač joined the club. With better prospects and Champions League football, Adeyemi could indeed stay for the medium to long term at the Westfalenstadion.

Karim Adeyemi's current deal expires in June 2027, and with two years left, BVB better find a common denominator and seal an extension before he comes into his contract year by the end of the 2025/2026 season. Even if a sale could not be ruled out before a new contract is properly signed, sticking with Adeyemi would be an excellent thing for Dortmund once he is young (23) and with a good margin for improvement, as he has this season.
