Future perspective with a proven manager

The last piece of argument that I need (or not) to convince you that Sebastian Hoeneß is the coach Dortmund should invest in is his resume. From the last few managers who have led Borussia Dortmund in the past two and a half seasons, both Terzić and Sahin had one thing in common: a lack of proven minutes as a full-time football manager at a higher level.
Therefore, BVB's attempt to emulate Leverkusen's formula with Xabi Alonso has proven unsuccessful. For starters, the Spaniard had more youth and first-team minutes as a manager before coming back to the BayArena, which gave him time to experiment and prove his potential in lower and high-level competitive settings. That was not the case with Terzić and even less with Sahin.
If Dortmund decides to go for Hoeneß in the summer, they will finally bet on a manager who has proven himself on the biggest stages. Even though he has no trophies in his private cabinet to showcase, Hoeneß massively overachieved with more humble squads than Dortmund possesses. After all, he has already beaten Dortmund this season by 5-1 while overperforming Dortmund in xG, non-penalty expected goals, and expected assisted goals.
Indeed, his signing would also need to be attached with a restructure in the recruitment department and a solid sporting project. But, if the board could pull off a deal like this, Honeneß could be the game-changing piece that BVB longed for such an extended period. He might not necessarily be the new Klopp; however, Borussia Dortmund's future would definitely be in great hands moving forward.
