The Black and Yellows took on Juventus in Turin. The game saw a bit of a slow first 45 minutes, with chances being minimal, but with Borussia Dortmund seeing the majority of the ball. Gregor Kobel was tested by Thuram, but made a very impressive save in the first half to keep the game at 0-0.
It was a night-and-day contrast from the second half to the first half. Karim Adeyemi produced a fantastic opener, striking the ball just outside of the box with his left foot. Kenan Yildiz responded with an absolute stunner, bending the ball into the top right, leaving Kobel helpless to bring the game back to 1-1.
Borussia Dortmund responded quickly through Felix Nmecha, curling in a beautiful effort. Just two minutes later, Vlahovic finished off a quick counterattack to bring the game back to 2-2. Yan Couto capped off an impressive game by scoring in the 74th minute. Then, after what seemed to be a bit of an argument between Guirassy and Bensebaini for who was going to take the penalty, Bensebaini ultimately scored to make it 4-2 for the Black and Yellows in the 86th minute.
Juventus showed an impressive amount of heart scoring two goals through Vlahovic and Kelly within 2 minuts at the end of added time. This sort of collapse from Dortmund tainted what should've been an impressive win at 4-2. Bensebaini, having scored what seemed to be the nail in the coffin, ultimately played a huge role in the comeback of Juventus, seemingly switching off after scoring the penalty. Player ratings below:
