Player Ratings from a nervy 3-2 win over Borussia Monchengladbach

It was a tense derby, but a late flurry of first-half goals were enough for Dortmund to secure victory.

Gregor Kobel (5/10) – Kobel made one big save in this match and conceded two, not that there was a lot he could have done about either.

Niklas Süle (7/10) – Süle is having something of a redemption arc right now, as he’s worked his way into Niko Kovac’s favor lately. The German was strong today, both in defense and attack, making five progressive passes into the final third.

Waldemar Anton (7/10) – The most accurate passer in this match, Anton has been looking increasingly comfortable in a back-three, and more specifically, in the center of a back-three. He made seven clearances, recovered the ball ten times, and made a couple of very impressive interceptions.

Ramy Bensebaini (6/10) – I think Bensebaini’s overall performance was on par with Anton and Süle, but his poor touch in defense perfectly set up Ko Itikura’s opening goal for Gladbach.
