Player Ratings from a nervy 3-2 win over Borussia Monchengladbach

It was a tense derby, but a late flurry of first-half goals were enough for Dortmund to secure victory.

Yan Couto (6/10) – Couto had some brilliant moments in this game: he’s speedy, and makes quick passes to link up his teammates. I was especially impressed with his first-half performance, though he seemed to run out of steam in the second half, leading to his departure at the hour mark.

Felix Nmecha (6/10) – Since returning from injury, Nmecha has been growing into his role under Kovač and today he looked quite good, especially finding the back of the net to put Dortmund in the lead. He did however, commit a dumb foul which gave Monchengladbach a chance to get back into this game with a converted penalty.

Pascal Groß (7/10) – Groß assisted Guirassy’s opening goal, but he’s also a major source of midfield stability, with his accurate passing, creating more chances than any other player on the pitch (tied with Chukwuemeka)

Daniel Svensson (8/10) – This was one of the best performances we’ve seen from Svensson. The lad could hardly put a foot out of place as he ran up and down the pitch as a constant creative outlet for play to progress. His headed goal was superb, and well-deserved as his first in Black and Yellow.
