Gregor Kobel (7/10) – Kobel didn’t have to do too much throughout this match, but he did make an important full stretch save in the second half. That’s four clean sheets in his last five matches.
Yan Couto (7/10) – Yan Couto was a curious case of a player looking better and better the longer the match wore on. He struggled in the opening minutes but created the best chance of the first half. He wasn’t terribly successful dribbling, but he found space through the midfield multiple times in the second half. I think the Brazilian needs more minutes to reach his peak.
Emre Can (8/10) – Who would have though Emre Can would make for such a reliable defender? Our captain was very solid, winning the majority of his tackles and duals.
Nico Schlotterbeck (8/10) – We know Schlotterbeck is our best defender, but his partnership with Emre Can has become impressive in recent weeks. Schlotterbeck is our best player for long balls up the pitch, and Niko Kovač knows it, as Schlotti is always trying to find that attacking run. And that’s in addition to his defensive exploits.
Ramy Bensebaini (6/10) – This wasn’t Bensebaini’s best showing, as he struggled to maintain pace with Noah Weisshaupt, and Philip Treu. Still, he put in a decent shift through his defensive work.
