Gregor Kobel (6/10) – Kobel made one big save in this match and intervened in a few attacking plays, but his defense offered impressive coverage. Kobel will be disappointed to have not earned a clean sheet.

Waldemar Anton (7/10) – While Anton hasn’t impressed as a right-back in a back-four, he looks very solid on the right side of today’s back-three. This is a system that seems to work well for him.

Emre Can (6/10) – Defensively, Emre Can was very strong, but his long balls were terribly inaccurate and left me lamenting Nico Schlotterbeck’s absence.

Ramy Bensebaini (6/10) – Bensebaini did more than his fair share of defending in this match, even clearing one ball from close to the goal line. He’s lucky that his first-half handball didn’t result in a penalty (especially with Felix Zwayer).
