Julian Ryerson (6/10) – Julian Ryerson completed more dribbles than any other player in this match, and his precise cross provided the assist for Dortmund’s opening goal.
Salih Özcan (4/10) – The Turkish International brings some physicality to matches, which is important against opponents like Bayern Munich, but today he lacked the speed and technical ability to hold the midfield. I’ll give him credit for how high he can jump on aerial duals.
Pascal Groß (5/10) – Groß’s ability to dictate the direction of play was hampered in the first half, but he looked quite promising in the second. His crossing and corner kicks left much to be desired, and he missed a great chance to win the match in the dying minuets.
Daniel Svensson (6/10) – Svensson had a decent game, but he was frequently out-muscled by players like Joshua Kimmich and Konrad Laimer. Still, it was a good display from the young player.
Julian Brandt (3/10) – Brandt provided the pass to Ryerson which led to the first goal, but for most of this game he was a ghost on the pitch. Other times, he was simply ball-watching. I keep waiting for Brandt to improve under Kovač. That hope is fading.
