Felix Nmecha, Carney Chukwuemeka, Ramy Bensebaini, Karim Adeyemi (N/A) – Carney Chukwuemeka certainly made an impact in this match, as did Karim Adeyemi, and I can’t help thinking they should have been subbed in sooner.
Niko Kovač (5/10) – Dortmund held onto the draw into halftime, but just barely. The first half saw one-way traffic on the wrong side of the pitch, and an utter lack of creation on the other side. Switching back to a 3-5-2 was the obvious choice to make after the success against Mainz and Freiburg, then the humiliation in Barcelona. But the team didn’t look ready for this, especially as Bayern’s defense has been leaky in recent weeks.
The tactical adjustments at halftime helped find an early goal, but once Bayern changed their strategy, Kovač waited... He waited until we were down 1-2 to make his first substitutions, and he waited far too long to introduce Karim Adeyemi into this match. The tactical adjustments once again, helped rescue a point in this match, but in retrospect, I think this was winnable.
