After a successful first season, Serhou Guirassy will continue to lead the line for Borussia Dortmund. The Ballon d’Or nominee, however, needs a backup to step in if and when he is injured. This is where Fabio Silva comes in.
The Portuguese striker has been strongly linked with a move to Dortmund by both BILD and Sky Germany.

The striker started his career early on and showed early promise as he was training with the senior Porto team at the tender age of 16.
After moving to Wolves, he has been on several loan moves with mixed performances. Fans are divided on their opinions on him, but given his age and potential for growth, not to mention the fact that this will be an understudy role, BVB could do a lot worse.
Fabio Silva is the right fit for Borussia Dortmund
Reports have suggested that Fabio Silva will be offered a 5 year contract at Borussia Dortmund. The player's dream was said to be to play for AS Roma, but the club didn’t make any offers.
While Fabio Silva arrives, Sébastien Haller is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund. After failing to rediscover his old form, Haller will now be let go by the Black and Yellows, with the club paying a significant amount of money to terminate his contract so he can join Dutch club FC Utrecht on a lower salary.
Haller’s departure is also an indication that a new striker is coming after BVB’s underwhelming involvement in the transfer market, in which the major signing has been Jobe Bellingham.
After arriving at Wolves from Porto, Fabio Silva has been on several loan deals to various clubs, including Anderlecht, PSV, Rangers, and Las Palmas. The striker has generally managed to find the back of the net while he was away on loan deals and put on impressive displays, but often came short while playing for Wolves.
Borussia Dortmund offers the player room for development and an opportunity to fine-tune his skills at the highest level. At the same time, he will plug an important gap in the squad playing second fiddle to an inform Guirassy and learning a lot as an understudy.
