3. Andriy Yarmolenko

Andriy Yarmolenko is a player who Borussia Dortmund fans will remember for all the wrong reasons. He was signed in 2017 for a fee of €27m, which is a high amount for BVB. to invest into a single player but he struggled to justify this price tag. Of course, players do not control the amount they are signed for but they do control their performances on the pitch.

Yarmolenko only lasted one season in front of the Yellow Wall before he was sold to West Ham. It was a shame but BVB pulled the plug on the flop transfer at the right time.

A player with clearly a lot of potential, which he showed by tearing apart the Ukrainian league for a few seasons, however, it wasn't to be for him in Germany. He had multiple opportunities to make a name for himself in front of goal but more often than not, his end product let him down. This would have been an easier pill to swallow if he upped his effort but alas.

Annoyingly, he then went onto become a solid option for West Ham in the Premier League.
