4. Nuri Sahin

Needless to say, Nuri Sahin's best performances came when he was in the infamous Dortmund black and yellow jersey. The club legend came through the youth academy and represented Dortmund twice (plus another spell on loan).

Sahin initially represented the Dortmund first-team between the years 2005-2011, so a lengthy spell from which he accumulated 135 Bundesliga appearances, scoring 13 goals. In 2011, though, he made the awful decision to join Real Madrid, a decision he likely regrets. Across three years with Real Madrid, he made just four La Liga appearances and he was sent out on loan twice.

Thankfully for Sahin, one of those loan spells was back to Dortmund. Although he didn't find the form of his initial spell, Sahin was thankful to return to the club as joining Real Madrid was the worst decision he made in his career. Now, he is the assistant manager for Dortmund and a well-respected figure at the club.
