4. Matthias Ginter

With no disrespect to Ginter, this is one sale which Borussia Dortmund are not likely to regret. This is because the decision to sell Matthias Ginter was one which benefitted all parties, particularly since the player often struggled to get into the first-team.

Ginter was sold by Dortmund to Borussia Monchengladbach in 2017 and he spent five years there, becoming a club legend as he made 154 Bundesliga appearances in five years. For reference, it took him three years to hit just 67 with Dortmund.

In terms of trophies, Ginter has not improved since leaving Dortmund. In fact, the only trophies he's won during his career came during his time with Dortmund. However, he is included in this list because in terms of his playing ability, he vastly improved after leaving Dortmund. He will look back at his career with no regrets, being a World Cup winner after all.
