We'll kill two birds with one stone here, since Manuel Akanji and Erling Haaland were sold by Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City in the same transfer window. Both players had an instant impact under Pep Guardiola and were key to the 2022/23 side winning the treble.

For Dortmund, Akanji had the better legacy playing for four years but Erling Haaland certainly cemented himself into a few goal-scoring records.

Since they left Dortmund in 2022, Dortmund alumni Akanji and Haaland joined forces once again to play for the best team to ever grace the pitch, potentially. As mentioned, the 2022/23 Manchester City side won the treble and they continue to dominate the English game, with Akanji donning the defence and Haaland doing what he does best by scoring goals for fun.
