After completing Bundesliga duties, the attention from Borussia Dortmund's perspective has been on their upcoming UEFA Champions League final. Edin Terzić will undeniably field a strong lineup but what room is there for squad rotation? Not much, is the answer. Here are 8 non-negotiable starters for Borussia Dortmund vs Real Madrid...

8 non-negotiable starters for Borussia Dortmund vs Real Madrid

1. Gregor Kobel

Unsurprisingly, Gregor Kobel has been Borussia Dortmund's goalkeeper of choice this season. Given that he was involved in the Bundesliga team of the season, he will be eager to prove himself on a bigger stage, making him a non-negotiable starter for Borussia Dortmund vs Real Madrid.

2. Nico Schlotterbeck

Having made 11 Champions League appearances already this season, Nico Schlotterbeck will certainly make a 12th in the final. He has never played in an occasion as big as this, but he has had a good season and been in good form of late.

3. Mats Hummels

Mats Hummels is one of the players in this Bundesliga team with exceptional Champions League experience. Being one of the remaining Champions League finalists from 2013, he will be eager to secure the Champions League trophy this time around.

4. Ian Maatsen

Only signed on loan from Chelsea in January, this could potentially be Ian Maatsen's final game for Borussia Dortmund. It would be an incredible way to bow out, should he make an involvement in the Champions League final. Surely then, BVB will HAVE to sign him permanently...

5. Marcel Sabitzer

Marcel Sabitzer is yet to win a major honour with Borussia Dortmund, but this would be some way to do it. Sabitzer has exceptional Champions League experience, being involved in the UEFA Champions League Squad of the Season in 2020.

6. Julian Brandt

Brandt was a used sub in the last Bundesliga match of the season. He came off the bench to score against Darmstadt, so he will be full of confidence heading into this match. Having only played half an hour last weekend, Brandt will have fresh legs heading into this match.

7. Niclas Füllkrug

It will be a tough ask beating Thibaut Courtois between the sticks but if anyone in this Borussia Dortmund team can, it's Niclas Füllkrug. He is the leading Dortmund scorer in the competition, after all. Having been replaced at the 61st minute last weekend, it is assumed that Füllkrug is in mind for the final.

8. Jadon Sancho

The story of Jadon Sancho has been quite remarkable. It is still in the air whether he will be signed permanently from Manchester United but a positive Champions League final performance will surely raise his stock. He is a non-negotiable starter, having provided an assist in the final Bundesliga match.
