Analysing Borussia Dortmund's potential Champions League round of 16 opponents
After drawing 1-1 with Paris Saint-Germain on Matchday 6 of the UEFA Champions League, Borussia Dortmund were confirmed as group winners in the so called ‘group of death’. The likelihood of this when the groups were first drawn was probably not very high given how impressive the other teams looked last season.
Yet, they managed to see off challenge of the likes of PSG, AC Milan, and Newcastle United rather comfortably to qualify for the round of 16 as one of the group winners.
Edin Terzic's side will now want to make this a memorable run and take real advantage of finishing first in Group F - which has resulted in avoiding drawing the likes of Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid in the round of 16.
