Borussia Dortmund will make the trip to FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga this weekend for what will be their penultimate game of the calendar year.

The Black and Yellows will be keen to put an end to their four-game winless run this weekend, and boost their standing in the Bundesliga in the process as they take on FC Augsburg. Trips to Bavaria have proved to be very tricky for Borussia Dortmund in recent years. Although they did claim a 3-0 win in this fixture last season.

Borussia Dortmund will go into Saturday's game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain. And Edin Terzic will hope that his side can build on their encouraging mid-week performance as they look to get their Bundesliga campaign back on track.

Injuries are continuing to mount for Borussia Dortmund, who will also be without Mats Hummels on Saturday following his red card against RB Leipzig last weekend. Emre Can and Nico Schlotterbeck will return to the starting XI. Marcel Sabitzer and Salih Özcan are doubts. While Karim Adeyemi, Felix Nmecha, Julian Ryerson, Youssoufa Moukoko and Julien Duranville will all miss Saturday's game.

FC Augsburg have enjoyed a reversal in fortunes since replacing former BVB II head coach Enrico Maaßen with Jess Thorup, having won three and drawn three of their seven games under the Danish coach. Although their unbeaten run was snapped last weekend as they fell to a 2-0 defeat to Werder Bremen.

Augsburg should welcome Sven Michel back into the squad on Saturday, although Iago and Dion Beljo are both doubts. Ermedin Demirović has been in fine goalscoring form for Augsburg this season, and will be one to watch for the Borussia Dortmund defenders this weekend.
