Borussia Dortmund will now prepare for the UEFA Champions League final on June 1, 2024. It is an excellent opportunity for BVB to showcase their incredible support and of course, add another Champions League trophy to their cabinet, the first time since 1997.
Borussia Dortmund have not been in a Champions League final since 2013. BVB fans need no reminding about losing that game to Bundesliga opponents Bayern Munich. However, let's take a look through the historical archieves at Borussia Dortmund’s 2013 Champions League final lineup and see where each player is now, 11 years after that final.

GK - Roman Weidenfeller (retired)
Wow, what an incredible career Roman Weidenfeller had. The German goalkeeper remained with Borussia Dortmund for his entire career after signing from 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
Weidenfeller started the final against Bayern Munich and after this match, he remained as a Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper for a further five years, completing an incredible 16-year tenure in front of the Yellow Wall. Weidenfeller is retired now but has an incredible honours list featuring two Bundesliga titles, two DFB-Pokals, one DFL-Supercup and, of course, one World Cup.
