Borussia Dortmund fans have been able to get an early look at the club's kit for the coming season. The design sports very thin black, vertical stripes on a yellow base, with black sleeves and collar rounding out the look.

The kit in question seemingly takes inspiration from the 1996/97 Champions League kit, incidentally the last time Borussia Dortmund won Europe's top cup competition. The kit is based on Puma’s “Teamfinal 24” template, which Puma has incorporated into the designs of the kits of other teams they have a partnership with.

Overall, the kit design is a minimalistic take on the iconic 96/97 design, which as already mentioned was an iconic year for Borussia Dortmund. The design has already started some discussion on social media about its qualities, which is often the case when it comes to Puma kits, especially those produced for Dortmund.

The black sleeves are certainly one of the kit's more eye catching features, but the faint nature of the stripes themselves makes them almost feel like an incomplete design. As with other kits made by Puma however, it may simply take some time for this kit to grow on the fanbase and perhaps it will become a bit more of a classic some years from now, just like the kit it is supposed to be be based on.

The home kit for the 2024/25 season is set to be launched next month, and the Borussia Dortmund players will wear it for their final Bundesliga game of this season (against Darmstadt on May 18 at the Westfalenstadion).
