Borussia Dortmund 3-0 Club Brugge: Three takeaways from BVB’s Champions League opener

Jamie Gittens is ready to make a name for himself
Jamie Gittens is only 20 and he was Borussia Dortmund's best player of the night. The season is young, but the Englishman has already made a huge impact. Gittens scored two as a super sub against Frankfurt, and now he’s done the same in the Champions League, earning his first Man of the Match award in the competition.
While Gittens' first goal in this match was a feat of physics, deflecting perfectly off two Brugge players, it was his second that blew me away. The technical ability in dribbling into the box, the fancy footwork, and mature finish all lead me to think this kid is poised for stardom.
In addition to putting Dortmund in front, Gittens completed all but one of his passes on the night and had more successful dribbles than any other player.
