Borussia Dortmund are allegedly interested in Hertha Berlin youngster Jelani Ndi
Borussia Dortmund's transfer plans for the coming winter and summer windows, while very much focused on the first team, are still seemingly focused on the club trying to sniff out the best possible talents to add to their academy as well. Hertha Berlin youngster Jelani Ndi is apparently one of the players on the club's radar.
According to Bild, Dortmund's interest is coupled with that of VFB Stuttgart, who also see the player as a top prospect. For Hertha's under-17s, the player currently boasts a record of 6 goals and 6 assists over the course of 15. He is lauded for his blistering pace, creativity and finishing, all of which would make him a perfect fit at Dortmund down the line if his development were to continue in an upward trajectory.
Ndi's current contract runs out in 2025, making a move for the player very feasible for both Dortmund and Suttgart. With the likes of Paris Brunner among others putting in performances that could possibly see them move into the upper echelons of Dortmund's development structure, Dortmund will soon have to fill their ranks with more players in their development pyrmaid anyway.
As Dortmund continue to accumulate players who still have a ways to go in their development before they can play in the first team, it will increase the chances that they will indeed have another star player come through the ranks and make it to the first team to play an important role for the seinor side. One can only hope that Ndi, if he signs, ends up being one of those examples of success.
