Two Borussia Dortmund players will be taking part in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, with Sebastien Haller and Ramy Bensebaini called up for the tournament that will take place in the Ivory Coast.

The start of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations is just two weeks away, and teams have started to finalise their squads for the tournament. As expected, Borussia Dortmund duo Sebastien Haller and Ramy Bensebaini have both received call-ups for the tournament that will be held from January 13 to February 11, 2024.

Haller has been named in the Ivory Coast squad despite picking up an ankle injury during Borussia Dortmund's Bundesliga clash against Mainz 05 before the winter break. The hope will be that he can return to full fitness in time for the start of the tournament. Bensebaini has been called up by Algeria, who won the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations but were eliminated in the group stage during the previous edition of the tournament.

Both Haller and Bensebaini will now miss Borussia Dortmund's mid-season training camp in Marbella and at least two Bundesliga matches, with the season set to get back underway on January 12. And if their teams reach the knockout stage, they may have to miss as many as five matches.

Hosts Ivory Coast are in Group A of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, and will face Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau. Algeria are in Group D with Burkina Faso, Mauritania, and Angola.

Borussia Dortmund will resume their Bundesliga campaign with a trip to SV Darmstadt 98 on January 13.
