Borussia Dortmund may consider move for Juventus’ Matias Soulé
According to reports coming out of Italy, Borussia Dortmund may set their sights on one of Serie A’s brightest young players this coming summer. Juventus’ Matias Soulé, who is currently out on loan with Serie A side Frosinone, is said to be a possible target for Die Schwarzgelben.
The reports in question indicate that Soulé’s entourage has come in contact with Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen over a potential move. This news comes after Juventus rebuffed offers from the Saudi Pro League and the Premier League in the January transfer window, possibly in the hopes that the Argentine’s value may rise by the time the summer transfer window is active.
Juventus have good reason to believe this is possible, as Soulé has been in excellent form for Frosinone this season. Capable of playing as both an attacking midfielder as well as a winger, Soulé has amassed 10 goals and two assists in 24 appearances.
Soulé himself has also commented on the transfer rumors, stating that the "mega offer" he was presented with from Al Ittihad was not enough to stop him from wanting to stay until the summer to help Frosinone stave off any potential relegation threat:
"When this proposal came to me from Al-Ittihad as a bit of a surprise, I immediately talked about it with my family, but I already knew well in my head what to do: stay to save Frosinone."

While at this point any sort of interest from the Bundesliga is said to be in its initial stages, Dortmund’s interest may indeed step up if it becomes apparent that certain players will be departing the club come summer. Soulé could also be seen as a possible replacement for Gio Reyna if he and the club decide to part ways permanently after his loan with Nottingham Forest comes to an end.
A move for Soulé would also depend on the final result of Jadon Sancho’s loan at Dortmund and whether the club are able to secure his permanent transfer. Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl and co. will have their work cut out for them this summer either way to ensure that the proper personnel are brought in for the following season, in the hopes that the overall performances continue to trend in an upward trajectory.
