Julian Ryerson (6/10)

Ryerson put in yet another hard-working defensive performance, without really offering much in attack. He was decent on the ball and secure in his passing.

Mats Hummels (7/10)

Hummels was very unlucky with the own goal, but had the measure of the Atletico Madrid forwards other than that. He also helped set up Julian Brandt for the opening goal with his trademark outside of the foot pass.

Nico Schlotterbeck (7/10)

Schlotterbeck was excellent in the first-half, but had some problems against Ángel Correa after he came on at half-time. But he recovered well after a few initial hiccups and helped his side see out the win.

Ian Maatsen (7/10)

Maatsen showed a fantastic turn of pace before finding the bottom corner for Borussia Dortmund's second goal on the night. He looked lively and made a number of dangerous overlapping runs. He also defended really well, and looked much more at home playing in a traditional left-back role.
