Borussia Dortmund were made to pay for their abject defending and sorry midfield play as they fell to a 4-1 defeat against a rampant RB Leipzig side.

In a very worrying sign ahead of their Champions League semifinal against Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund were outplayed by RB Leipzig and fell to a well-deserved 4-1 defeat. The result means that the Black and Yellows will in all likelihood have to settle for fifth place in the Bundesliga standings this season.

Borussia Dortmund actually started well and took the lead through Jadon Sancho in the first-half. But that was as good as it got for Edin Terzic's side, as RB Leipzig responded immediately and took back control of the game.

Loïs Openda and Benjamin Šeško scored to put Leipzig ahead, before Mohamed Simakan and Christoph Baumgartner added two more goals in what was a second-half to forget for Borussia Dortmund.

Here are our player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from their 4-1 defeat to RB Leipzig.

Gregor Kobel (5/10)

Kobel will feel that he should have done better with Leipzig's second goal, as he failed to parry Xaver Schlager's initial effort out of harm's way. The lack of communication between him and the BVB defence was also apparent over the course of the game.
