Salih Özcan (3/10)

Özcan's laboured passing approach and lack of technical quality meant that Borussia Dortmund were never able to gain control in the middle of the park. He was also outplayed defensively, and failed to offer any security to the BVB defence.

Felix Nmecha (3/10)

Nmecha was unable to get involved at all, and just strolled up and down the pitch without ever looking like making any impact whatsoever. He failed to show any of the physical or technical qualities that prompted Borussia Dortmund to spend so much money on him last summer. And it was a performance that was symptomatic of his debut season with the club.

Julian Brandt (6/10)

Always looking to make things happen, Brandt looked lively in the first-half and was heavily involved in Borussia Dortmund's attacking play. He wasn't able to make a similar impact after the break, with Leipzig closing down all spaces.
