Borussia Dortmund parked the bus and got the result they wanted as they held Bayer Leverkusen to a 1-1 draw. Edin Terzic's side managed to frustrate the Bundesliga leaders by sitting deep and defending compactly.

There was certainly an element of good fortune in the result for Borussia Dortmund, as Bayer Leverkusen dominated proceedings right from the first whistle. But the Black and Yellows can take some solace from the fact that they ended a very successful week with a hard-fought draw against the Bundesliga's most in-form team away from home.

Borussia Dortmund defended really well for the most part, and also had a few decent openings on the counter-attack. While Leverkusen carried more of the attacking threat, they didn't manage to overcome the dogged BVB defence.

Here are our player ratings from Borussia Dortmund's 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen

Gregor Kobel (7/10)

The biggest positive of the game for Borussia Dortmund can be that they did not need a superhuman display from Gregor Kobel in order to come away with a 1-1 draw. While the Switzerland international still had to be alert at all times, most of Leverkusen's attempts were fairly easy to deal with for a goalkeeper of his calibre.
