Emre Can (4/10)

Can put in a decent shift for his side and tried to participate in Borussia Dortmund's attacking play more often. But his hard work was undone when he gave the ball away in the final third, allowing Stuttgart to launch a swift counter-attack and score what proved to be the winning goal. What did not help either was the fact that trudged back after giving the ball away instead of trying to help prevent the counter.

Marcel Sabitzer (5/10)

Sabitzer had a solid first-half, but failed to build on that after the break. He wasn't able to find a way to help break down the Stuttgart defence and was taken off in the 71st minute.

Julian Brandt (4/10)

Brandt put in a frustrating shift with his decision making leaving a lot to be desired. He had a few lapses in concentration and also did a poor job of trying to close down Jamie Leweling for Stuttgart's winner.
